A Ghanaian woman, Felicitas Naa who enrolled in Junior High School at the age of 41 is close to achieving her dream of becoming a health officer.
It was gathered that at age 18, Felicitas fell in love after a man pledge to her that he would help her continue her education after they get married. The lady jumped into the enticing proposal and got married to the man.
As time went on, the man began to develop himself instead, he furthered his education and in the long run, started complaining about the low standard of Felicitas. Her marriage gradually collapsed and she was left with three children to cater for.
She became depressed but had to dust herself and aim for her dreams. She took up some petty trade and started to save money. In 2006, she decided to go back to school after 22 years, at this time she was already 41 years old.
According to Felicitas, all the school she applied for junior secondary school education rejected her, she had to undertake the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) as a prerequisite to enter senior high school.
She completed junior high school in 2009 and then gained admission to the Oguaa Senior Technical School to offer a course in General Arts.
Felicitas is currently a trainee at the Tamale School of Hygiene, where she will graduate this year (2019) as a health officer.
Feicitas naa's story can help us relate with the quote that says “Nothing binds you except your thoughts; nothing limits you except your fear; and nothing controls you except your beliefs.” ― Marianne Williamson
